Job description

Summary 

The Procurement Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the timely supply of goods and services required to support Company’s operational needs. The role ensures compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining cost efficiency, supplier performance, and inventory availability.

  • Source and purchase goods and services in line with approved specifications, budgets, and timelines

  • Issue purchase orders, follow up on deliveries, and ensure accurate documentation

  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, and resolve delivery or quality issues

  • Coordinate closely with inventory, warehouse, and operations teams to maintain stock availability

  • Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, FIFO practices, and expiry controls

  • Ensure compliance with HSE, HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and supplier documentation

  • Support audits, compliance checks, and internal controls as required

  • Use ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools to track procurement activities and reporting

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Certificate in CIPS, CPIM, CSCP) is an asset

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory, or supply chain roles

  • Experience in food service, catering, manufacturing, or regulated environments is preferred

  • Advanced and Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Dynamics AX / GP or similar)

  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and follow-up skills

  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Strong communication and supplier relationship management skills
