Summary 

Network and Communications System Administrator manages and secures the company’s ICT network, communications, and ERP system. Handles system configurations, troubleshooting, vendor services, and disaster recovery. Ensures network performance, security, and end-user support while maintaining structured documentation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Research, define, understand and keep up to date with all components of the ICT Network.

  • Research, define, plan and assist with the design of the ICT network and Communications.

  • Define and maintain comprehensive structured documentation of the entire ICT network, inclusive of any changes made.

  • Implement and manage disaster recovery plan and back-up.

  • Manage vendor services and device warranties.

  • Maintain, administer and secure the Company’s architecture and communications network including configuring of servers, routers, switches, AP’s.

  • Plan, implement, configure, maintain and troubleshoot the Company’s WAN & LAN infrastructure and equipment.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on communications and server hardware to ensure optimal uptime.

  • Scan, test and monitor traffic on all network operations.

  • Maintain PBX system and associated devices with relevant external providers.

  • Document and log all maintenance checks and report any exceptions.

  • Provide technical end-user support for systems and applications by receiving, monitoring and logging the actual service provided.

  • Set up and install new software/hardware, repair hardware problems.

  • Set-up and manage user accounts and workstations.

  • Troubleshoot issues connected to the network and the systems.

  • Educate and train company employees how to use new software programs or on company security etc.

  • Document issues and associated resolutions to problems.

  • Administer ICT Security to ensure confidentiality and secured access to equipment and systems based on ICT Security requirements.

  • Study and understand the key features and functionality of Epicor/Microsoft ERP solution.

  • Provide support for Epicor/Microsoft ERP Solution.

Job requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in networking and security technologies.

  • Professional and/or vendor certifications would be as asset.

  • Experience configuring and managing firewalls and network devices.

  • Knowledge and experience of cloud-based technologies.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Exposure to Epicor, Microsoft or any standard ERP software is desirable.

  • Exposure to any standard software development methodology is desirable.
